Description:
Started in 2000 by a group of Asian American journalists, the San Diego Asian Film Festival has already gained an international reputation. It's noted as much for its diverse range of independent films as for its laid-back vibe and easy access to filmmakers and actors featured in the films. For eight days, the festival screens movies that might not otherwise light up a stateside marquee, along with panels, workshops and a gala awards dinner.
